Unit Fitness Cell Managers (UFCMs) Training
In support of SPFMAN 36-2905 guidance, Mr. John Hofman and Dr. Timothy Lim will conduct the required training and certification for Unit Fitness Cell Managers (UFCMs). This session will provide a comprehensive overview of SPFMAN 36-2905, clarify the roles and responsibilities of the DFM and UFCM, and include a walkthrough of the myFSS system. This training is essential for individuals serving in or supporting unit fitness program roles.
About UFCM Training
In the U.S. Air Force, UFCM Training generally refers to training for Airmen who are responsible for managing unit-level fitness operations. Depending on the base and context, UFCM is often used to mean Unit Fitness Center Manager (sometimes used interchangeably or informally with Unit Fitness Program Manager โ UFPM).
What UFCM Training Is
UFCM Training prepares Airmen to oversee and administer physical fitness programs within their unit or at a unit fitness center. It ensures the Air Forceโs fitness standards are applied consistently, safely, and in accordance with AF policy.
UFCM Training typically includes:
- Air Force fitness policy and guidance (DAFI 36-2905 and related updates)
- Roles and responsibilities of unit fitness leadership
- Scheduling and managing fitness assessments
- Proper use and maintenance of fitness equipment
- Safety and injury prevention
- Data tracking and accountability (often using systems like myFitness or AFFMS II)
- Supporting Airmen on fitness improvement programs
- Coordination with the Health Promotion Office (HPO)
