Pre-Separation Counseling

Are you separating or retiring from military service? Your journey starts by scheduling your Pre-Separation Counseling, where you will meet with a TAP counselor to discuss transition requirements, complete a personal self-assessment, and discuss your unique post-transition plans.

Service members must complete this mandatory counseling 18 months before separating or 24 months prior to retiring, but mandated NLT 365 days before leaving the service.
